- No Chapter Meeting in April: April is a busy time with so many events going on that we do not have a monthly meeting. The must-attend April event is the Spring Plant Sale at the Wildflower Center, which will take place April 9-10, 2011.
- Mar. 15, 2011: Steven Schwartzman, photographer and mathematician from our chapter, presents his latest photography, “The World of Nature in Central Texas.”
- Feb. 15, 2011: Dr. Monica Swartz, Director of the Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve and Assoc. Prof. at St. Edward’s University, presents “Rare Native Plant Conservation at Home–A Radical Proposal.”
- Jan. 18, 2011: Dr. Wendy Gordon, biologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife, presents “Climate Change, Biodiversity and Texas.”
- Dec. 14, 2010: Winter Social, Silent Auction and Potluck
- Nov. 16, 2010: Dr. Damon Waitt, Senior Botanist at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, presents “Venimus, Vidimus, Vicimus – Invasive Species and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.”
- No Chapter Meeting in October: Like April, October is another super busy month. Don’t miss the two annual events:
- Oct. 9-10, 2010: Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Plant Sale – Austin, Texas. WFC members can shop early on the 8th.
- Oct. 7-10, 2010: NPSOT State Symposium, 30th Anniversary year – Denton, Texas
- Sept. 21, 2010: Kelly Bender, biologist, author and urban wildlife expert presents “Texas Wildscaping: Attracting Native Wildlife with Native Texas Plants.”
- Aug. 17, 2010: Naturalists, writers, and photographers Brian and Shirley Loflin present “Texas Cacti.” Sale of their book Texas Cacti and signing to follow the presentation.
- No Chapter Meeting in July: The plants are hibernating and so are we!
- June 15, 2010: Jason Singhurst, botanist and plant ecologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife on “Herbaceous Seepage Slopes and Bogs of the West Gulf Coastal Plain“
